Common questions.

How much does this cost?

Depends on your return. You'll get an exact quote on the free call before you commit to anything.

How long does it take?

Usually [[TURNAROUND]] from when I have all your documents. Missing documents are the thing that slows returns down, which is why my system tracks what's still needed.

Do we have to meet in person?

Only if you want to. Most of my clients do everything by video and secure upload. In-person is available in PLACEHOLDER_CITY.

Can you handle my state?

Yes. All fifty, plus multi-state returns if you moved or worked across state lines.

I haven't filed in a few years.

That's common and it's fixable. We'll figure out what's missing and get you current. I'm not going to lecture you.

I already filed and think it's wrong.

An amended return can correct a filed return, generally within three years. Send me what you filed and I'll take a look.

What documents do I need?

After our call I'll send you a personalized list. If you were a client last year, the system builds the list from last year's return so you're not guessing.

Do you use AI to do my taxes?

I use it to read your documents so I'm not typing numbers off a W-2 by hand. It does not decide anything about your return. I review every figure against the original document, and I'm the one who signs it. Your Social Security number is stripped out before any document is processed.

What if I get audited or get a letter?

Send me a photo of the letter. If I prepared the return, reviewing the notice is free. I don't provide audit representation, but I'll explain what you're looking at and help you find someone if it goes that far.

When should I get started?

Documents mostly arrive in late January and early February. Booking your consult in January means you're not competing with everyone else in April. I take clients year-round.
